Mrs. Basham here is my Epitaph poem.

Author: Maria Alvarado
Type of poem: Epitaph

Maria was a cheerleader
The funny thing was that she wasn't a leader
She was a flyer
By being a top liar
She sliped down
And that was the end of her round.
Ocean Breeeze

Love is like the Ocean Breeze, slow but cold
And when is strong, it holds you on
Never too weak to let you leave
Strong enough to break you apart
Love is like the Ocean Breeze
In a certain place and at a certain pace
Once it starts it can never end
Love is like the Ocean Breeze, slow but cold

XXXVII

If love is action, I am but a bland_and apathetic testament to hate;_I lie before I ever take a stand,_and plan to die before I procreate._If love is patience, I will win the day,_for time is on the side of those who wait_in silent expectation of the stray_and misdirected arrows of their fate._If love is made of mutual desire,_I lust for her who shares my ardent thirst_to claim my fill of romance, and retire_to years no longer by this question cursed–_alone together, basking in her glow,_with only our contentedness to show.

Nothing Girl
by Christelle Duvenage
Maybe I wear baggies
and white socks with flip-flops,
maybe I don't like listening to rave
and I'm not on the social mountaintops,
maybe I don't care about the things
that make your worlds twirl,
maybe you look at me and think:
Gee, what a nothing girl.

Maybe I like giving smiles
which seems to be a sin today,
and maybe I allow my imagination
to sometimes run away,
maybe you don't understand this
and that's why you cannot see,
if this make me a nothing girl,
hey, that's ok with me!

The world makes you believe
your personality mustn't be detected,
your face must be picture perfect
and wear cloths just the best, to be accepted.
Maybe I look at you
and feel sorry that you're blind,
robots you have became,
yourself you'll never find.

God made you, as well as me,
this means I am something,
the world is a liar
and if I must be a nothing
for you to see it,
then so be it!

Epitaph
by Jaimie D. Travis
Image of you in a cloud rolls by
The sky opens up, somewhere in my mind
A vision of you in a pale blue dress
Tears falling down, you took my breath
Memories of you . . .

Rain always hides these tears in my eyes
Thunder laughs and my soul dies
Will I hear your voice
Will I touch your skin
Will the ocean waves let me in

Epitaph read like a warning sign
Lightning strikes, I close my eyes
A vision of you in a torn red dress
Tears in your eyes, your hair a mess
Memories of you . . .

Rain always hides these tears in my eyes
Thunder laughs and my soul dies
Will I hear your voice
Will I touch your skin
Will the ocean waves let me in

The time is near, the time is nigh
To answer the call, to answer the cry
My head still spins, my body aches
Cold wind stings my eyes, my face
Look around, no one there
Will anybody notice, anyone care . . .

Will I hear you laugh
Will I see you cry
Will this world just end and let me die

X-Girlfriend - Mariah Carey

(Chorus:)
Ex-girlfriend, you can't have him
It's about time that you found you a new man
He's moved on, don't you know, don't you know
You gotta let him go, let him go, let him go
Ex-girlfriend, you don't listen
Stop trying; he's not gonna give in
He's not yours anymore, don't you know, don't you know
You gotta let him go, let him go, let him go

Hey, ex-girlfriend, it's too bad when you had him
Y'all thing didn't work
But he's all mine now, so stop pursuing him
Before you get your feelings hurt
See, our love is hot, and no it won't stop
'Cause I got him on lock
And although he rejects you, it don't seem to affect you
'Cause you just keep tryin' to get wit' him

So don't, don't keep, keep calling
Hanging up the phone
When I answer
I know it tears you up inside
And why do you sit in silence
On the other end
'Til I hang up
And you predictably call right back again

(Repeat chorus)

Hey, ex-girlfriend, whatever your name is
I'm really not amused
'Cause the things you do are very offensive
And sometimes straight-up rude
All those late-night calls and notes on his car
Won't get you anywhere
You can call his mom as much as you want
And he won't really care

So don't, don't keep, keep calling
Hanging up the phone
When I answer
I know it tears you up inside
And why do you sit in silence
On the other end
'Til I hang up
And you predictably call right back again

(Repeat chorus)

(Bridge:)
I understand
Why you want him back
But don't you know
Our love's too strong
For you to penetrate
It's too late
He's not your baby no more

Ex-girlfriend, ex-girlfriend...

I lost(my poem from poemhunter)
by Jasmine

I lost the boyfriend I had.
He made me very sad
I couldn't get mad.

He made me love him so much,
I still feel his touch.
Running down my back
Something that he lacks.

I figured out I can't live without him.
His soul completes me.
But I have to except thee

I lost him because of a girl,
She really makes me hurl.
She is the type I hate
The one you can not break.

He made me so lonely
He was just a phony.
But in my heart I still like him
Even though he did me wrong.

I hate to cry right now,
But its bad to cry over a man
Which I don't really understand
Because he wasn't a real man

Which I am saying that he wasn't strong
To stay with me that long.
He listened to his friends
Instead of what he felt inside

So he is no longer here
And no longer there
Lets just say he is not anywhere
In my world even though I still love him.
